Online Safety

The internet and digital technologies play a central role in children's lives, offering incredible opportunities for learning, creativity and connection. At Manor Primary School, we're committed to helping our pupils develop the skills and understanding they need to stay safe online, both at school and at home.

We create a safe digital learning environment through:

Robust filtering and monitoring systems – reviewed annually by our Senior Leadership Team, Designated Safeguarding Lead and IT support to ensure children remain protected online
Clear policies and procedures – with defined roles and responsibilities across our school community
Age-appropriate curriculum teaching – online safety is embedded throughout our curriculum from EYFS to Year 6, helping children develop the skills they need as they grow
Mobile phone-free environment – pupils are not permitted to use mobile phones during lessons, breaktimes or lunchtimes

We follow the statutory guidance in Keeping Children Safe in Education 2026.

We know that keeping children safe online can feel overwhelming. Here are some trusted resources to help you:

UK Safer Internet Centre This contains a range of resources for 3-11 year olds about safe internet usage.

CEOP This is an online police reporting tool to use for internet safety matters.

NSPCC This website offers advice and resources for parents to discuss online safety with their children.

Childline (0800 1111) This website and phoneline offer support to children if they feel uncomfortable talking to other adults.

What to Do If You Have Concerns

If you're worried about your child's online activity, you can contact any of our Designated Safeguarding Leads through main school office. Please see our safeguarding page for more details. In an emergency, always call 999.
