School Meals
Our school does not have its own kitchen, but meals are prepared by ABM Catering and transported from a local school. As per the government scheme, all children in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal, and we are pleased to expand meal choices to Key Stage 2 pupils from February 2025!
Ordering School Meals
- Payment: Meals must be paid for in advance via Arbor. Click here for guides on using the Arbor Parent Portal and App.
- Cost: Each meal costs £2.60 for pupils in Year 3-Year 6. You can top up your child’s meal account at any time, but sufficient funds must be available before meals are served. If your child is entitled to FSM, there is no charge. You can check eligibility here.
- Account Management: If your child’s account goes into debit, you will receive reminders. If payment is not received after two reminders, we will have to suspend meal service until the balance is cleared.
- Meal Selection: Meals operate on a three-week rotating menu (see below).
- Flexibility: Your child can have a mix of school meals and packed lunches, but all meal orders must be placed by Friday for the following week to allow caterers to prepare accordingly.
- Dietary Requirements & Allergies: Ensuring children’s dietary needs are met is a safeguarding priority. If your child has any food allergies or medical dietary requirements, please complete the attached ABM Catering form.
Drinks and Snacks
- Early Years & Key Stage 1: Children receive a free piece of fruit each day.
- Years 3 to 6: Children should bring a healthy snack from home for break time.
- Water Bottles: Every child must bring a water bottle to school daily to ensure they have access to drinking water. Bottles will be sent home for washing each day.
- To comply with Walsall’s ‘Healthy Schools’ guidelines, we kindly ask that you do not send or distribute sweets, chocolates, or cakes for birthdays, holidays, or special occasions.
