PE and Sports Premium

The PE and Sport Premium is government funding provided to primary schools in England to improve the quality of physical education, sport, and physical activity for all children. It helps schools enhance their PE lessons, offer a wider range of sports, and encourage healthy, active lifestyles. Please see the below report for how we have used our funding.

Swimming Information

The National Curriculum requires all primary schools to provide swimming instruction during either Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2. Pupils should be taught to:

  • Swim competently, confidently, and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres

  • Use a range of strokes effectively (for example, front crawl, backstroke, and breaststroke)

  • Perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations

At Manor Primary School, we are proud of the achievements of our current Year 6 pupils (2024-2025):

  • 93% can swim at least 25 metres

  • 82% can confidently use a range of strokes

  • 100% can perform safe self-rescue in a variety of water-based situations

These outcomes reflect our commitment to ensuring that all children develop essential swimming skills and water safety knowledge before moving on to secondary school.
