Physical Education (PE)

Curriculum

At Manor Primary School we aim to provide a high-quality Physical Education (PE) curriculum that inspires all our pupils to lead active, healthy lifestyles. We believe that PE is an essential part of our curriculum, which supports the physical, emotional, and social development of our pupils. Our goal is for all children to master fundamental movement skills, develop sport-specific techniques, and gain the knowledge they need to succeed and excel in a wide range of physical activities. Equally important, we aim to nurture positive attitudes towards physical activity and competition, helping pupils build confidence, resilience, and a sense of responsibility for their own health and wellbeing.

Pupils in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 enjoy two hours of high-quality PE lessons each week, taught by both class teachers and our specialist sports coach. Through regular assessment and encouragement, we identify each child’s strengths and areas for improvement, offering additional challenges and opportunities for those with particular talents through lunchtime and after-school clubs. Our teachers focus not only on skills but also on physical literacy, promoting confidence, teamwork, and a growth mindset during lessons. Feedback is an important part of our approach, enabling children to understand their progress and celebrate their achievements.

At Manor Primary, we are committed to making PE a positive and inclusive experience for all pupils. We ensure that every child is actively engaged, supported to reach their full potential, and inspired to develop a lifelong love of sport and physical activity.

Sports Competitions (2024-2025)

We are incredibly proud to share the fantastic achievements of our pupils across a variety of sports this season. Not only have our teams delivered impressive results, from becoming Black Country School Games champions in netball to winning the Walsall district football championship, but they have also consistently demonstrated outstanding behaviour, a positive attitude, and exceptional teamwork both on and off the field. These qualities truly embody the spirit of Manor Primary School and set a shining example for all. Here is a closer look at their remarkable performances across netball, football, cricket, tag rugby, and athletics competitions.
