Equality and Diversity

At Manor Primary School, we believe every member of our community deserves to feel safe, respected, and valued. Guided by our mission to “be the best that we can be,” we are committed to creating an inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated, and equality of opportunity is promoted for all pupils, staff, parents, and visitors.

Our Commitment

We uphold the Public Sector Equality Duty by ensuring that we:

  • Eliminate discrimination, harassment, and victimisation as outlined in the Equality Act 2010.

  • Advance equality of opportunity for everyone, regardless of their background or protected characteristic.

  • Foster good relations across all groups, promoting understanding and mutual respect.

Our Values in Action

Our core values shape everything we do:

Respect and Kindness: We celebrate differences and treat everyone with dignity.

Responsibility: We take ownership of our words and actions, ensuring fairness for all.

Teamwork: We work collaboratively with pupils, staff, parents, and the wider community to build an inclusive culture.

Growth Mindset: We continuously learn, reflect, and adapt to ensure that everyone thrives in a safe and welcoming environment.

Our Equality Objectives

To embed equality and diversity throughout our school, we are working toward three key objectives:

  1. Inclusive Resources: Ensuring that our teaching materials reflect the diversity of modern society so that every pupil feels represented.

  2. Challenging Discrimination: Promoting positive attitudes and equipping pupils and staff with the tools to challenge discriminatory behaviour effectively.

  3. Celebrating Faiths and Beliefs: Providing opportunities for pupils to learn about and experience different religions and cultures, fostering understanding and respect.

How We Promote Equality

  • Delivering a rich and diverse curriculum that reflects a range of cultures and perspectives.

  • Offering PSHE and RSE education that teaches tolerance, respect, and healthy relationships.

  • Actively involving pupils, parents, and staff in shaping an inclusive school environment.

  • Ensure all pupils, including those with SEND, have equitable access to learning opportunities.
