Curriculum

At Manor Primary School, we believe every child deserves the chance to shine and “be the best that we can be”. Underpinned by our values of Respect and Kindness, Responsibility, Teamwork, and Growth Mindset, our curriculum is designed to provide pupils with the knowledge and skills for success while developing resilience, confidence, and sparking a passion for learning that lasts a lifetime.

As our website develops, we will be adding lots more information about our curriculum!

Vision

We want every child to:

  • Feel excited and curious about learning
  • Be ambitious and experience success
  • Develop resilience and the confidence to embrace challenge through a growth mindset
  • Learn to work as part of a team and take responsibility for their choices
  • Respect and celebrate differences, showing kindness to everyone
  • Secure strong foundations, through prioritising early reading, writing and maths, to enable them to access the full broad and balanced curriculum

Learning Experiences

We deliver our curriculum using engaging, evidence-informed teaching that ensures every child makes excellent progress. Our teachers carefully plan lessons that build knowledge, vocabulary, and skills step by step, following the National Curriculum while keeping learning exciting and meaningful.

Children benefit from rich learning experiences, including trips, visits, cultural events, music, sports, and creative projects that bring subjects to life. We also prioritise wellbeing and personal development – through PSHE and RSE lessons, pupils learn respect, inclusion, emotional literacy, and important life skills that support mental health and safety.

Our staff receive regular, high-quality training so that every lesson is consistently well-taught, and extra help is always provided where needed to ensure our children reach their potential. Learning is a team effort, strengthened by collaboration between staff, pupils, parents, and our wider community – all guided by our school values.

The Difference our Curriculum Makes

At Manor Primary, we see the impact of our curriculum every day in the progress and confidence of our pupils. Children achieve strongly across all subjects, and our cohorts exceeds national expectations in statutory assessments - see our performance data.

As pupils move through school, they build a deep understanding of what they learn. They remember more, know more, and can apply their skills creatively and confidently in new situations. Alongside academic achievement, we see remarkable personal growth. Our pupils demonstrate respect, responsibility, teamwork, and resilience in their daily behaviour and decision-making, truly living out our school values.

By the time they leave Manor Primary, our pupils are not only successful learners but also confident, well-rounded individuals, ready to embrace the next stage of their education and life beyond school.
