School Life from September 2020 onwards

Teaching groups – ‘bubbles’     Our classes will work in class groups of 30..

School starting times     We are working a staggered start and end time to the school day to try to maximise social distancing for parents and children. The Government guidelines suggest that the child/ren are brought to school by one parent only and handover will be at the school gate.  Other children not in school should not accompany this parent wherever possible. .

School cleaning   There will be daily cleaning at mid-day and end of day using anti-viral, anti-bacterial products that can be used when the classrooms and toilets are vacated.

Wearing of PPE    The Government guidance suggests that this is not needed in school. However, we have PPE for staff dealing with a child that becomes unwell. This includes an apron, gloves and face mask. Your child must not attend school if they are feeling unwell.

Supporting social distancing    Each child will be allocated a table and chair next to a class member that will become their own island. It will be a space that will also house their own things. We will limit the number of shared resources in school and between home and school. The rooms will be well ventilated and hand washing will be a regular activity. Break times and lunchtimes will be staggered and classes will be allocated their own designated areas outdoors. Contact sports are not permitted but access to some play equipment will be possible with hand sanitation before and after play.

Please continue to stay safe and well.
